Joseph grew up with his brother playing and designing their own board games. He’s worked for 23 years as a department head on major Hollywood film and television projects and worked with Hasbro in game design. He’s also helped consult and play-test for multiple game companies including being an advisor for Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition.
Gaming and game design are <span class=”il”>Joseph</span>’s biggest life passions. As CEO of BMG and Associates <span class=”il”>Joseph</span> is excited to bring back to life, the games people loved growing up and rekindle the nostalgia of our childhoods!
David McMillan has worked the last 12 years in Emergency Management and public safety. He spent 10 of those years working in Baltimore’s Mayor’s office where he was the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management and the Emergency Manger for the City of Baltimore. Most recently he has worked as a Specialist with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
David received his Master’s Degree in Political Science from Brown University and a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University.
While professionally, David holds a strong passion for public safety, emergency management, he is an avid fan of fantasy and animated content, including video games. David religiously played the original OverPower Card in the late 90s and 2000s, and regularly plays in competitive tournaments to this day. David grew up on the original MegaMan and MegaMan X series which he considers the Cadillacs of classic side-scrolling video gaming.
As the Chief Technical Officer of BMG & Associates, David looks forward to giving a second chance to previously beloved games and content.
Keith Bursack comes from a law background and has worked for companies and firms ranging from Marvel Comics to most recently being Senior Counsel at Goldberg, Miller & Rubin. He has an impressive trial record of over 100 Jury verdict trials including leading a team as a Supervising Attorney at GEICO. Since 2017, Keith has earned the distinction of being a Certified Civil Trial Attorney.
Keith graduated with a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University. He earned his first comic book credit as ‘Legal Copy Consultant’ at Marvel Comics on Daredevil #13. Before that Keith was ranked the number one Overpower™ player in the world before he was commissioned to do freelance work on the game itself. Keith manned the 800 number which offered support to players, wrote articles about Overpower™ for Scrye and Inquest Magazines, and represented Overpower™ at trade shows and tournaments.
Shawn joined the company in 2020 bringing over two decades of graphic design and art directing experience and a lifetime in the gaming industry to BMG. Shawn is an active ranked competitor on the national Overpower™ circuit and works as creative director at Fennec Moon Studios, an Indy video game company.
When he’s not working on games, he’s playing them. He’s an active tournament competitor in multiple table top games, video games and has already started to get his young step son into competing in tournaments for the Pokemon CCG.
From an early age he immersed himself in the family business, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and an in-depth understanding on the inner workings of a multinational operation. Building upon this foundation he ventured to the United States to pursue his own entrepreneurial endeavors.
A prolific investor he has the right intuition in identifying promising opportunities. He has made strategic investments in startups, Broadway productions, commercial and industrial real estate projects and other ventures.
Beyond his professional accomplishments he is actively involved in philanthropic initiatives, supporting causes close to their heart and making a positive impact in the community.
Andrea Bate is a founder of Bates & Bates, and specializes in the protection and commercialization of intellectual property. She concentrates her practice on sophisticated worldwide IP management and counseling to strategically position clients patents, brands and images in the global marketplace and to enhance and increase the value of each client’s intellectual property with the goal of increasing the client’s market share. Andrea’s practice includes trademark, patent, copyright, domain name and related intellectual property matters. She serves as intellectual property counsel, with a focus on trademark matters, for significant trademark owners around the world, including Gibson Brands, The Coca-Cola Company and Chemours. She specializes in coordinating worldwide portfolios from a global procurement, maintenance, enforcement and strategic management perspective.
Ms. Bates also has an extensive background in intellectual property litigation and conflict matters. She has been involved with both domestic and international intellectual property disputes dealing with patents, trademark and trade dress infringement. Andrea is a former partner of Greenberg Traurig. She also served as Chief IP counsel for Checkfree Corporation and General Counsel for Checkfree Software. Andrea excelled in advising in the development and protection exploitation of company intellectual property.
